A new study, Apples to Apples: An Evaluation of Charter Schools Serving General Student Populations, published today by the Manhattan Institute finds that charter schools serving similar populations outperform public schools on math and reading tests. This superior performance comes despite the fact that charter schools often receive less funding than regular public schools.
